History of Interstate Hotels & Resorts

Interstate Hotels & Resorts traces it roots to 1961 and today is the result of several mergers involving prominent and successful hotel management and ownership companies. With each merger, the company grew larger and stronger, enabling it to provide an unmatched level of service and value to hotel owners.

2008 Interstate forms 50-50 joint venture partnership with JHM Hotels to operate and invest in hotels in India; platform management company named JHM Interstate Hotels India.
2008 Interstate forms joint venture with FFC Capital Corporation; acquires 22 select-service hotels.
2008 Interstate and its joint venture partner, Harte Holdings of Cork, Ireland complete acquisition of four-hotel portfolio:  Sheraton Great Valley in Pennsylvania, Sheraton Mahwah in New Jersey, Latham Hotel Georgetown in Washington, DC, and Hilton Lafayette in Louisiana.
2007 Interstate acquires its seventh wholly-owned hotel, the Sheraton Columbia in Maryland, and concurrently forms a joint venture with Investcorp International's Real Estate Group to buy two hotels: Hilton Seelback Louisville in Kentucky and Crowne Plaza Madison in Wisconsin.
2007 Interstate forms a joint venture with Premier Properties USA to build three hotels: a Hyatt Place and two aloft Hotels.
2007 The company expands into Mexico - invests in three Mexican properties and forms a strategic joint-venture partnership with Steadfast Companies, named Interstate Hotels & Resorts de Mexico, to own and operate hotels in Mexico. 
2007 Interstate acquires The Westin Atlanta Airport in Georgia, the company's sixth wholly-owned hotel.
2007 Interstate acquires joint venture interest in the Radisson Hotel Cross Keys in Baltimore, Maryland.
2007 Interstate acquires the Hilton Houston Westchase in Texas.
2007 The company sells BridgeStreet Worlwide Corporate Housing subsidiary.
2007 Interstate Hotels & Resorts and The John Buck Company form joint venture to build five to 10 aloft hotels.
2007 Interstate Hotels & Resorts to manage Russia's first Hilton hotel.
2006 Interstate acquires equity position in the Courtyard by Marriott Boise.
2006 The company acquires the Hilton Arlington, Texas and the Hilton Garden Inn Baton Rouge,  Louisiana.
2006 Interstate acquires equity interest in the Statehouse Inn in Boise, Idaho.
2006 The company acquires equity position in Doral Tesoro Hotel & Golf Club, six Residence Inn hotels in Cleveland, Ohio and Sawgrass Marriott Resort & Spa, Florida.
2006 Selected to manage its first property in Dublin, Ireland.
2005 Interstate obtains its first management contract in Belgium.
2005 Interstate acquires the Hilton Concord in California.
2004 Interstate acquires Sunstone Hotel Properties, a management company that operates 54 hotels.
2003 BridgeStreet licenses three partners in their Licensed Global Partner program.
2003

Interstate agrees to manage 22 former RFS-owned hotels for CNL Hospitality.
