Christopher L. Bennett is Interstate Hotels & Resorts' chief administrative officer and general counsel as of December 2011, responsible for the company's legal, human resources, and corporate communications functions in addition to managing Interstate's global joint venture relationships and expansion. He joined the company and has led the legal departments of Interstate and its predecessors since 1998 and the human resources department since 2004, most recently as executive vice president and general counsel. In 2010, Bennett was also named managing director, international, responsible for the company's strategic oversight and development of Interstate’s international portfolios.

Bennett concurrently served as senior vice president and general counsel of MeriStar Hospitality Corporation and oversaw its legal department from 1998 until January 2003. Prior to 1998 he was an associate at the New York City-based Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine and Thacher Proffitt & Wood.

Bennett earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and received his undergraduate degrees in accounting and finance at Virginia Tech. Bennett is also a Certified Public Accountant.
